IGNITE-LDR’s bigger picture
Co-funded by the European Union under the Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) Instrument and managed by the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), IGNITE-LDR is directly aligned with the European Green Deal and regional Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3).
IGNITE-LDR makes advanced digital manufacturing more accessible and scalable for SMEs, by addressing critical regional challenges such as production optimization, shopfloor digitization, and material circularity.
The main objectives of the project are the deployment of a flexible IIoT platform, innovative cloud-based tracking tools, and tailored interregional funding experiments, paving the way for the future of sustainable smart factories and a resilient European manufacturing economy.

Our mission is to drive industrial digital transformation and foster a smart, zero-waste manufacturing future.
IGNITE-LDR aims to be a pillar of the regional transition to an inclusive digital economy by making advanced manufacturing technologies scalable, sustainable, and circular. The project envisions a future where smart, data-driven factories are the standard, enabling industrial SMEs in less developed regions to seamlessly optimize production, eliminate waste, and thrive in a competitive European value chain.
IGNITE-LDR actively lowers the barrier of technology adoption by leveraging a rock-solid ecosystem of already proven, EU-validated marketplaces and open-source tools. The project focuses on connecting legacy factory machinery to the cloud via the RAMP IIoT platform, deploying advanced process orchestration and machine vision, and distributing €1.8 million in cascade funding to clear the path for immediate, real-world SME digitization.
